Antic

Antic was the name of a home computer magazine devoted to the Atari 8-bit computer line (Atari 400/800 and compatibles). It took its name from the ANTIC chip, which produced the Atari line's graphics. [1]


Apple Inc.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL; formerly Apple Computer, Inc.) is an American multinational corporation that designs and markets consumer electronics, computer software, and personal computers - Macintosh line of computers, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad.

It's co-founder Steve Jobs worked at Atari briefly in 1974, working as an technician. It was said that Jobs had the other Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak created the Breakout circuit board for Atari [2].

The early Macintosh was direct competitor of Atari in the business sector. There are many commercial depicting this [3][4]. The Atari ST is also able to emulate an Macintosh faster and has a larger screen that the original Mac 128K by using a Spectre GCR


Branch Always

Branch Always Software was founded by Derek Mihocka. The company now develops virtual machines products for MS-DOS, Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux platforms - Gemulator, SoftMac, and Fusion PC - deliver extremely fast emulation of classic Apple Macintosh and Atari ST computers. During the Atari days, he developed TOS loaders and software speeder for the Atari ST.

Commodore

Commodore is the commonly used name for Commodore Business Machines (CBM), the U.S.-based home computer manufacturer and electronics manufacturer. Commodore developed and marketed the world's best-selling desktop computer, the Commodore 64 (1982). Commodore later released the Amiga[5] range of computers in 1985. The company declared bankruptcy in April 1994.

The Amiga line of computers were direct competitors to the Atari ST line of computers. They were based on the Motorola 680x0 CPU, the machine sports a custom chipset with graphics and sound capabilities that were unprecedented for the price, and a pre-emptive multitasking operating system called AmigaOS. Ironically, the Amiga was designed by a group of ex-Atari designers and engineer [6].
