Re: Stacy Problem
I wish I could help you here but I don't have any STFM's and honestly have no clue about any differences there. I do know that the STacy uses a "Shadow" chip that the other ST's don't. I think it drives the LCD output 'n stuff. Hopefully, someone with a little more knowledge can jump in here and hel...

Re: Stacy Problem
I'm with mdivancic. It sounds like you've done a lot already trying to figure out what's wrong with it. If possible, I would also say that if you can get your hands on a known, working external brick and/or internal P/S board, at least just for testing purposes, it would go a long way towards ruling...

Re: Yamaha CD-writer problems (Extendos 4)
At the time I was putting all this stuff together is was 'nigh impossible to find a Link 96/97 so I stuck with my Link II and found a drive that didn't need the arbitration. Since that worked, I never tried anything else. There's been talk here and there about reverse engineering things but I've not...

My setup is terminated as well. That wasn't the problem here, it was
definitely "SCSI bus arbitration".

Re: Yamaha CD-writer problems (Extendos 4)
IIRC, it's a Plextor CD-R PX-12D.
I am using Anodyne Software for burning my backup CD's. Works like a champ. I
have an AdSpeed accelerator in the Mega ST4 (16mhz) and I think it helps the
CD-R/software work reliably at 2X speeds.
HTHs.

Re: The DarkForce! BBS Prize Giveaway!
Just to let everyone know, we are having some power issues here in E. Kentucky. Power went off around 8pm Monday night and didn't come back on until around 1pm today. Then, right in the middle of trying to answer Doc Clu's PM about DarkForce being down, it went off again, but only for a few minutes...

Re: Yamaha CD-writer problems (Extendos 4)
I have a Link II that I use with a 4 gig SCSI hard drive and Plextor CDRW on the Mega ST4 that I use to run my BBS. I use the CDRW for backup purposes. I had previously tried a couple of Yamaha CDRWs (don't remember the model numbers , sorry) and they would not work. This is using HDDriver. When I r...

Re: Telnet Programs
I can't even begin to imagine why it would kick you out, then refuse connection.
As far as the refuse connection goes, remember this is a single line/user BBS.
So if someone else is already on, you'll get an unable to connect message of
some sort, depending on what software you're using.
HTHs.

Strange. It works fine here using the following: Windows 7 - command prompt Kubuntu Linux - laptop, Konsole Atari Mega STe - TAZ (through a UDS-10) The first 2 work with: telnet darkforce-bbs.dyndns.org 520 While TAZ works with the actual IP address: atdt 173.80.217.46,520 Get callers all the time s...

Hey guyz, I loaded up the files in NeoDesk and it looks like there are quite a few to be sure. Thanks for your help DarkLord. You may have the only known disk. Anyway I attached a pic of what I found. There are just a few from some of the *.nic files on the disk. Thanks again. -Matt EDIT: I went ah...

Re: NeoDesk 4 Icon Disk
If i understand it, the *.NIC file format can contain any number of icons, so there may be actually that much icons on the disk. But i tried IconJuggler to view them, and it crashed, so i cannot tell for sure. That may well be it then. I read a couple of posts doing some research on this and there ...

Re: NeoDesk 4 Icon Disk
Guys, I seriously doubt if this disk contains 500 icons. I doubt if it has 20-25.
Maybe there was a separate disk that had that many but I don't think this is it.
I dragged everything from the floppy to my Mega STe's hard drive then zipped it up.
Sorry.

Re: M_PLAYER 4.07 available! New interface.
I was thinking about Pak 68/3 equipped machines running at 40/50mhz with FPU's running the same speeds, some with up to 64 megs of RAM or those TerribleFire accelerators that are now used in ST's and STorm ST boards that give an additional 8 megs to ST's... STuff like that. :) PS and I do realize th...
