Searchable PDF Manuals for Cubeat 2.0 (plus disk image), Notator Alpha 1.1, Notator/Creator SL 3.1

I got busy with some preservation. https://www.patreon.com/posts/atari-st-music-44116318 Searchable PDF Manuals: • Cubeat 2.0 (338 pages) • Notator Alpha 1.1 (258 pages) • Notator SL/Creator SL 3.1 (770 pages) Plus a disk image and zip of the relatively rare Cubeat 2.0: • Cubeat 2.0 Disk (720kb) Enj...

Re: Found! 1997 CD-R full of Atari ST menu disks from Alien (Pompey Pirates)

@LynXX I cannot reproduce what you are seeing regarding the MSA files. I do not see any files full of zeroes out of the ones that are said to differ. How are you mounting the ISO? A byte level diff would be great, rather than just a file/directory diff. I don't have the LGD Pompey CD or I would do i...

Re: Found! 1997 CD-R full of Atari ST menu disks from Alien (Pompey Pirates)

@LynXX thanks for the report You can browse the ISO online here: https://ia801406.us.archive.org/view_archive.php?archive=/35/items/atari-st-collection-1997-cdr-alien-pompey-pirates/ATARI_ST.ISO I just tested a few MSA and they seemed fine, which ones did you have issue with? I can see the zero leng...

Re: Found! 1997 CD-R full of Atari ST menu disks from Alien (Pompey Pirates)

Thanks! Looks largely the same.

I'm wondering about the files said to differ, do they both run/verify OK or is one or the other corrupt?

Yes it does have all the original boot sectors, it's unmodified and exactly what I received from Alien in 1997.

Cheers Rich! Interested to hear if there are any file-level changes.

Could you please do a diff?

Re: Found! 1997 CD-R full of Atari ST menu disks from Alien (Pompey Pirates)

I wasn't aware of an existing Pompey Pirates CD! D'oh. What are the file dates on that one? Which is older? Definitely scan the cover.

I did think the empty Deviant folder was strange, but it's definitely empty I checked with multiple CD ripping apps.

Such a text file list is already included on the download page, but another one won't hurt. Thanks!

You can also browse the ISO on the website and download individual files from it if you wish.

Re: Found! 1997 CD-R full of Atari ST menu disks from Alien (Pompey Pirates)

I was a bit anxious given that my Mac would not read the CD-R, but Windows had no problem using the same USB CD/DVD drive. Thanks Bill Gates! I ripped the CD-R to ISO 3 times and each were byte for byte identical, which is a great advertisement for TDK media. Excited to hear what's in these files, a...

Found! 1997 CD-R full of Atari ST menu disks from Alien (Pompey Pirates)

So, I just found a CD-R of Atari ST menu disks and stuff that Alien (Pompey Pirates) sent me back in 1997! https://archive.org/details/atari-st-collection-1997-cdr-alien-pompey-pirates link above contains: * text file of contents * ISO disc image * disc contains further text files with per-directory...

Re: Retro Venture - welcome to modern retro computing!

Exciting news regarding ST FORMAT!

I hope I'm not being too critical, but please hire an English editor to avoid grammar and spelling errors in the final magazine. Not many projects take this step, so there's an opportunity to rise above all others.

Good luck!

I ended up using files from your EasyAraMiNT beta2 rather than BeeKey. I prefer the simpler setup and vibe.

Anyway, I'm happy! Merci mec

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

So I gave up going down the USB/Pi route.

I found MacAranym, and then unsquashed the filesystem from BeeKey and combined the two.

Now I have MacAranym running Philippe's setup in a window. Perfect for my needs!

Thanks all.

Onwards!

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

Is there an alternate way to get to Aranym Setup? Alt+F12 is not working for me. Will keep trying. You can run aranym with the -G option, that should open the setup before booting the ROM. And since a commit done Jun 26, you can also use the middle mouse button to enter setup. Where do I specify th...

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

Saving a file to H:\Documents did not survive the reboot. Thinking about the first boot, it was very quick - too quick for the initial persistence file sync/copy to happen. So I am wondering whether the steps for Mac Install listed in BeeKey Manual are correct? Given that a Mac ISO is provided, I'd ...

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

Neither Alt+F12 works to do anything? Choosing keyboard fro the setup did not change anything. I have had to create my own keyboard.tbl using KeyEdit as it was the only way I could get punctuation to type correctly. Timezone change that I made does not survive a boot which makes me think persistence...

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

I built an older (3.3) version of Mac-Linux-USB-Loader, it has those options so now I'm booting OK!

Here it is for other Mac users.

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

Hmm. The version of Mac-Linux-USB-Loader I am using does not have the options in step 8 & 9 of the guide?

8. Click and activate “This ISO lacks an EFI-enabled kernel”
9. Click and deactivate “This ISO has code older than Ubuntu 14.10”
