Re: Atari ST mascot characters?

first thing what comes in my mind is, of course, the busy bee but right after it there is a game called "HECTOR vs The Mutant Vampire Tomatoes from Hell". Right after it i think of camels or lamas from Jeff Minter

Re: What's the difference between various MiNTs?

There was a Gentoo Freemint distro (https://web.archive.org/web/20110817085128/http://gentoo.atariforge.org/) but it has gone somehow. If you search for some files, you will find them at mikos download area (for example: https://mikro.naprvyraz.sk/gentoo.atariforge.org/files/sys-mint/) but if you cl...

Re: WebOne: browsing by proxy

I don't want to spoil your fun, but I don't get it what the difference is to any other proxy? I mean, squid has been around for years. squid is very well documented, can do just about anything and runs on just about everything (for example, directly on my pfsense router). Therefore I do not understa...

Hi there, while working on this (https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=39796) i desoldered a Falcon CPU. Now i had a dead CPU on my table but it is too good to throw away. So i bought a small frame, made some paperwork and now i have this da1a69b449ab9d7c.jpeg Will fit nicely beside my fr...

Yes, of course, the nvram. Noone knows why I have written "blitter"

Re: Falcon without CPU but with Afterburner?

Oh! A DSO. That makes things a bit easier. Just connect the probe to CH1 and select CH1 button so that it's the only one that's green. Find the clock signal, it's somewhere here on the solder side of your Falcon's expansion port on the AB... Only one probe? No GND or such? There should be a button ...

Re: Falcon without CPU but with Afterburner?

Piece of cake! With our SMD Rework Station, the CPU was almost falling down right away but i didnt find my vacuum pen so i had to bend the pins "slightly". The fun part was to test the pads for shortages using needle probes. Took me nearly 2 hrs. to test all the pads. However. I havent tested the fa...

To be honest.... Wait for it! The PC-Market is sold out nearly everywhere. Re: Falcon without CPU but with Afterburner?

@rustynutt yes, the guy who sold it to me said it was running with a Afterburner but he wanted it switchable to go back to normal 030 mode for games and demos. somehow he destroyed the cpu then. However, here at home, i dont have the equipment to desolder the cpu (and i'm not allowed to by the law o...
