Re: Nim (programming language) on the Atari
The language seems to rely on indentation for grouped statements (obviously inspired by python). I consider that one of the biggest nonsense ever made, and reminds me of early versions of COBOL and FORTRAN... not something that i would call a modern programming language. And what is “modern” by you...

Re: REWRITING HISTORY - 'Jack Tramiel lent Amiga $500.000'
The only plague being spread is from that Atari Business is Fun book. This is absolutely the worst book on the subject that's ever been published. Do yourself a favor and immediately throw that book out or better yet burn it. Do your own research, which you already have started. Why would you say s...

Re: [A]tari [G]ame [T]ools - 2D prototyping engine for STE
Today I discovered that the arcade game is based on two rounds... that is not the best case, players want more levels, not a second round :( I disagree with that. All the Makaimura games work around two rounds to be able to got a secret weapon to beat the (real) final boss. If peoples have the time...

Galaga 88 is pretty massive!
...playing Galaga 88 on Falcon it is already impressive (I just also played Galaga 88 on MAME/CoinOps/Xbox... - it is prefect on Falcon)
if STe could pool it...

btw
can you restore animated background in Cho Ren Sha? Or it is too much work/complicated...?

Apple M1 Chip
I do not know if you saw new M1 chip from Apple. It is really innovative approach to computing :) Good article that explain M1: https://erik-engheim.medium.com/why-is-apples-m1-chip-so-fast-3262b158cba2 What I find interesting is that all component of M1 chip (CPU, GPU, DSP...) have linear access to...

I wonder if Amigas Project X would be doable on AGT? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_QSqJJgsIZo E.g for parallax scrolling at the last two minutes of video there is some nice parallax scrolling with color changes and sky at different speeds... Beside, there is no parallax scroll in entire game but th...

What is “character maps”?
I also find laser very impressive over Parallax background!
Btw
on Amiga you need to use dual- playfields to achieve same effect? (Since background and foreground are overlapping, they are not just lines scrolled at different speed)

Re: [A]tari [G]ame [T]ools - 2D prototyping engine for STE
Yes, it's a pity that the Videl is still not emulated more properly in Hatari. Multiple viewports would not be emulated, neither would palette switching to achieve more colors, or splitting the screen in different bit depths, for instance 8bp in one part and TrueColor in another. There's not even a...

Re: Replacing Atari Falcon inside (internal) speaker
You are talking about 3.5mm audio out? Right? I read some of that stuff before but my impression is: - MP3 files, and general audio, from Falcon (without modification) sounds much better than audio from PC or Mac since Atari Falcon have boosted low frequencies at hardware level. This is my impressio...

Re: [A]tari [G]ame [T]ools - 2D prototyping engine for STE
Yes. The Falcon is probably even better at it, in some ways. The 68k can't run concurrently (much!) with BLiT commands while the 030 can. And with 8bpl you can do more effects of course. And you can run more complex game logic with the extra CPU cycles. ... Cyprian mention some interesting tidbits ...

Re: Replacing Atari Falcon inside (internal) speaker
Thanks mpattonm for suggestion. Just to be sure: I can connect that Visaton FRWS 5 SC - 8 Ohm speaker directly to audio cable on Falcon motherboard (as replacement for original speaker)? I will not damage/stress motherboard? Beside, I completely understand arguments that speaker is only "half os sto...
