GWBASIC

Hello !

I just noticed that Gladir's GWBASIC recreation in Pascal compiles out of the box on PurePascal ! It's far from complete but it's a very good start, which is also quite readable so it could easily be improved and adapted to the ST's specifics.

Re: New French website dedicaced to Pure Pascal

I'm Vincent B, not Vincent R. Prepare to be told off for speaking French on an English-speaking forum :D The Free Pascal is looking for an Atari TOS maintainer, isn't it something you would be interested in doing ? :) AFAIK the FireBee has been completely halted for several years. 2 years ago I aske...

Atari target for Calypsi 68k C compiler

Hello ! Håkan Thörngren has created the Calypsi cross-compiler tool chain https://www.calypsi.cc/ . It targets the 68000 (and soon 68020+), 65816/6502 features a nice compiler, assembler and linker, and the documentation is really neat, check it out ! It allows coding PC-relative code, writing inter...

Re: Midi Sequencer which is still in Development?

I got news from the author of Sweet16 a few months ago, because I wanted to take over development, but he could not accept to make it open source because some of the code is still used in his non-Atari products. I would like to make a sequencer for the C256 GenX or A2560U (www.c256foenix.com), I sta...

Re: Hatari keyboard and keymap

Thank you, I'm glad it helped you :) I can't merge this to the hatari repo, I have no rights to do so, I submitted the patch at the beginning of the year then lot interest when asked to salami slice it, but Eero has endeavoured to do it and is now working on it, making some refinements in the proces...

Re: Hatari keyboard and keymap

Sorry not sure why the link didn't work, I copied it from github. Here's a better one. https://github.com/vinz6751/hatari/tree/improved-kb-support2 And look in doc/keymap-sample.txt for explanations on the format and doc/fr/clavier-exemple.txt for instructions in French, this is a keymap for French ...

Re: Hatari keyboard and keymap

Hello, I had problems last year too with Hatari not handling correctly the French keyboard, for example { which requires shift alt. I improved it so you can map SDL keys with modifiers to Atari keys with modifiers. With this change, all keys on the French ST keyboard worked, I showed it in this (cra...

You can also use the Logical edit, then you can set a fixed value or do arithmetic operations on the velocity value (or anything else).

Re: Sample playback on ST/STF

Hi! I guess the fact that in the first case you have a 2 movep.l and the other case you have a movep and a movel only means these lookup tables are not the same, I mean they don't write the same registers. As I understand, the first one will write registers 0,2,4,6,0,2 and the second will write 0,2,...

Re: AHCC debugger?

Assemble (the editor) is quite nice, it has a coloring editor. The assembler is faster than devpack's. The linker can link Pure C objects too. The debugger is very powerful, it's a very nice package on the Atari. I was told recently (2 months or so ago) that the author is willing to put everything i...

Re: AHCC debugger?

About the format of the Pure C debugger: the debugger ADEBUG from Brainstorm understands PureC debug info, and it's open source now (search for ADEBUG RELOADED), I use it sometimes and it's quite good ! E.g. this file could be of interest https://github.com/frost242/adebug/blob/master/src/pcdebug.s ...

BIOS vs GEMDOS (vs AES) environment string

Hello ! I am writing a small TOS shell and I would like it to use the environment string. I found that the system variable $4be is null. When I launch a program, it will receive at 4(sp)+$2c (ie BASEPAGE+$2C) a pointer to an environment string but this is obviously not that of the $4be variable. Tha...

Re: Alternative ZIP packers/depackers for Atari?

Sunnyboy you're right, sorry I wasn't clear. The problem was with unpacking EasyMiNT from plain TOS for installation. Maybe the files are just too large for STZip. In the archive all files are 8+3 so long filenames "shouldn't" be the problem.

MigyMog ? really ?? tha's awesome ! any link on how to do that ? I installed EasyMint recently and i had the same issues with being unable to use STZIP. I tried STPZIP, the zipjr,.tos zip tool from KGMD (which appears to be the same) and some unzip tool I found on a FTP. All bombed. Ultimately I had...

Re: Mark Williams C

I've been playing with Mark Williams C and although it's dated, I don't think it's bad at all. The documentation is quite nicely done and helpful. Its shell is small, nice and enough , it compiles fast enough even on a simple ST, it has a nice collection of utilities provided with it to manage libra...

Falcon floppy drive connector broken

Dear Atarists, I wanted to replace the floppy drive cable on my Falcon I pulled, it didn't come out, I pulled harder.... and it broke :(, I mean the plastic piece that straps the flat cable on the connector. To the flat cable is now removed and "vampire" pins are standing out. I tried remo...
