Re: Devpac debugging tutorial
You would maybe need the Devpac MonST reference card, real handy with all key combos.Cant find it in a quick search?..Maybe no one scanned it and uploaded? Have a own made one in my old 'docus' computer. The manual is out there of course.(3.10)

LZH within Atari world but ZIP including all bugs, its not just ST-zip with its old style, with the rest since everybody got stuck with some form of 'zip' packing.

Re: MROS not found!
That has to do with memory allocation,it has actually not to do with finding the file itself.Cubase does a bit trickery with MROS since atleast in Cubase Audio it is loaded into high ram. This is done via allocating all memory and then shrinking with about the size of MROS but when launching MROS as ...

Re: Using the Falcon's expansion connector
[*]25MHz CPU + 25MHz alt-ram: mostly stable So tt-ram start to swing out at 120nS cycles? Given if using DSACKx termination? And yeap with many extra probe wires things tend to get a bit upset sometimes. Came to think of it you use SDRAM? I've never worked/read much of those but arent they much mor...

Re: Using the Falcon's expansion connector
No latches, but deactivating the RAM clock one half cycle before output is valid holds the data. That lets me assert DSACKx at leisure. Embarrassed to say this was actually causing my locking up. I must have misunderstood the data sheet. Delaying the clock hold by one cycle stopped the hangs at 16M...

Re: Using the Falcon's expansion connector
To be honest, the SDRAM is causing me enough headaches* at the moment that DSP is filed firmly in the 'later' camp! BW * SDRAM works fine when both it and the CPU are clocked at 16MHz. If either are clocked differently to each other it fails. I don't understand why, it should work with asynchronous...

Re: Using the Falcon's expansion connector
When (if) I get the AltRAM stable, the last big headache is the DSP. Currently it's simply disabled as I haven't yet had time to fully investigate how it communicates. I know there are issues with its interrupts, but I'm not sure what they are yet. I did fix a bug where I hadn't realised it was an ...

Cheers. Time to start researching cheap logic analysers. BW. But hey missed this back around a year ago?,,Oh yes now I remember did a Cpp course then.Must have been cause of that. Head full of software things and distractions :) Nice to see about the progress, have to check out the githubby page.

Quick tested on falcy and got similar style (mostly black with some artefacts at swiches)after the first screen or something Hi, it's is definitively not compatible with Falcon, because of fullscreen switches not supported by the videl, and also of precise timings. Heh,,yea quessed as much and did ...

Should it run on a MegaSTE? I see garbage instead of the pictures both in 16 and 8 Mhz. Quick tested on falcy and got similar style (mostly black with some artefacts at swiches)after the first screen or something. Most likely depends on switching palettes and stuff on the fly which on faster buses a...

Re: Pexec in HiSoft Basic anyone?
Well I would not have spotted the "%" versus "&" issue. Not sure what that even implies. The GFA manual also has it share of quirks. ;) Is that a HSBasic sort of thing me wonders,I mean never done anything more than 'hello world' thingy in basic itself even if figured out how to do c-style asm call...

Re: MiNT --> GEM
You mean loading an external ROM-TOS? No, that is not supported. Also, IIRC, GEM=ROM is also still broken somewhat, in that the keyboard input is blocked (using nohog2.acc can be used to work around that) About the broken thing, wonder if that is the reason why I on my 1.15.12 install based on a eas...

Re: PCI for the Atari range
Heh,,that sounds interesting since have been thinking in about those lines but more like twin systems..That is using the Rpi for online and such dirty work and keeping the ST intact as such. There is already a project like this for the Amiga which connects to the 68000 bus called the A314 https://g...

Re: PCI for the Atari range
The most interesting solution in the works at the moment has to be PiSTorm. It is a Raspberry Pi with a special hardware bridge that plugs into the 68000 socket and runs a specially modified version of Mushashi (low-level 68000 software emulator). All the Raspberry Pi's ARM peripherals are made ava...

Re: PCI for the Atari range
Well this was a fun and interesting thread :) And yeap even the PCI is today very old and actually not that suited for simple solutions as we tend to want in our machines. Mainly for transfering files or other more modern style of communication than Rs232 at 19200 bits/second. However did see some g...

However before rushing of and buying a new chip check that the outputs are really connected. Its not that uncommon to have board/solder problems after all these years.

Sounds good! Do you know how the protection works in CAF? Not as such no,tho seen a couple of places in the code that most is likely protection stuff?..I had this fancy idea of being able to use networking(mint) whilst running CAF.And found almost all of the places they used old code(open file for ...

Re: After nearly 20 years, will anyone crack Cubase Audio 2.06?
Thx,for the reminder folks..
Almost forgot that did some work on CAF 2.06,,not the crack thing mind you but that it would work as maybe intended upon once a time on release.
Will try to wrap some stuff up and put it up.

Re: Shades of Circuits - a MaxYMiser album
When you listen it from Spotify, you miss the MaxYMiser screen activity visible in the Youtube Atari video, so it's clearly an inferior option. ;-) Yes I do agree. Still Spotify is more convenient in many situations. After working on chiptunes during this project I somehow lost interest in other ki...
