Cant remember 100% because I was quite busy/distracted at the time, but Im sure Robson brought one to the CyberLegends show in his ATW:

Re: ChatGPT writes a GEM program...
It reminds me of an old company I used to work for. The 'chief engineer' seemed to know stuff until the conversation delved into the nitty gritty, then he would (sometimes hideously incorrectly) bluff his way through the topic with hilarious consequences. On a more serious note, the system is still ...

Re: ST emulator, test build
This looks very good!
I would love to try it on my CoffinOS V2 card, but I find doing most things on the Amiga OS (any) a complete nightmare; the .prg files are coming up as project files and hence wont 'run'. Can anyone enlighten me? TIA

Re: Akai DD1000 Magneto-optical Disk Recorder Atari ST Software Wanted
Interesting machine. If you cant find the Atari specific software for it, perhaps all is not lost, if you are prepared to do some MIDI programming: Most MIDI controlled devices (including the Yamaha CBX D2D recorder mentioned above) have some sort of MIDI control codes. Depending on how they are use...

Re: FORTH for every Atari
Hey, no worries, I have yet to look into sample playback via cartridge, but It was nice to see the support for it from within the language (even though the interrupt handler code needs to be hand written, which is fine and well integrated from the 'setreplay' command argument). Just wanted to check ...

Re: FORTH for every Atari
On a (hopefully not too far removed) similar topic... When I do get the chance to go there, I was very much looking forwards to making use of the support for the Replay16 cart. However, the manual states that this is discontinued. Has this support been (or will be in future builds) removed? Again, m...

Re: STFM Shifter limitation?
@czietz: Good exploitation BTW
As I have other visual issues going on (and dont generally look at schematics) it was one of those things I wasnt sure was my machine or not. (I did guess that if HATARI emulated it, it was likely the case anyway).
Thanks for clearing that up.

STFM Shifter limitation?
I stumbled on this apparent anomaly a couple of days ago. Between only having a rather unique shifter setup in my MegaST (the only Atari I have currently) and using HATARI, I cannot be 100% sure of the actual answer on a standard machine, so reaching out on this one... So it seems, as far as I can t...

Re: New board: ImpoSTer (USB keyboard/mouse & more)
Ah! Thanks Alan. I can make good use of that. So to get this right, I have the mini USB port powering the board from a wall plug when using it on the Mega ST. If I put a USB extender lead from the PC to USB port 1 (the top port) this should then allow the keyboard to work on the PC? Also will the (p...

Re: New board: ImpoSTer (USB keyboard/mouse & more)
Really pushed for time ATM, but Im very pleased that the ImpoSTer seems to work fine so far. (Running it with a Lenovo USB keyboard and a PS/2/USB>Atari 9-pin converter USB mouse on my MegaST4). Anyway, Im looking forwards to seeing if several regular HID USB joypads can be attached simultaneously a...

Re: TT and Software HAM
Okay the TT has a 640x480x16. Is the TT quick enough to do a Software HAM mode, i.e. if the screen is made up of horizontal lines with pixels of colours 1..16 then 1..16 all the way across, could it swap the pallet quick enough to get a true 640x480x4096? I did some tests, and it is possible, but d...

Apologies Jeff.
Of course, guys, you are quite right.
Ive actually used this format in my own code, so should have known its validity.
Perhaps I should just stick to observing only, once the clock passes a certain hour! lol

Ok, bear with me, as its probably too late at night for me to be thinking straight, but here goes... Looking closer at the actual instruction and operands required: I dont think you can do a (non immediate value) SUB/ADD to data register: 2.JPG According to the 68000 UM, an Immediate number is only ...

Re: differences in vasm vs devpac assembling
When you say Devpac has all opts off, do you mean in the optimisation menu? If so, is there an optimisation directive in the actual code? (If this is the case then it is perhaps circumventing the optimisations menu options). (IIRC in Devpac the optimisation directive 'O-' will turn all optimisations...
