Re: Redirect MIDI to serial?

Just a few midi programs will work properly under multitasking systems such as MagiC or Mint. All I needed was a mid player. SMF_PLAYER works fine under MagiC(PC) with the C-Lab Director tool. I'll attach it in case someone needs it.

Re: Redirect MIDI to serial?

There is Director from C-Lab, which aims to re-direct the set Atari MIDI out to the outs on the C-Lab Export (or potentially other device via the serial port) or to the MIDI outs on a C-Lab Unitor: http://www.notator.org/html/software.html#director. You may be able to get something out of this? Tha...

Redirect MIDI to serial?

Is it possible to redirect MIDI out - bconout() - to the serial port? Tried Fforce() with no succes. I'm on MagicPC writing some midi stuff. MagicPC doesn't know midi so I sent midi events via the serial port to a serial-midi bridge on the host system, passing it to VirtualMIDISynth. Works fine for ...

Re: hatari and midi

My Ubuntu box passed away recently, but the idea would be: - create a pair of virtual serial ports (tty2tty or similar Linux tool) - connect Hatari midi to one end of the virtual pair (let's say ttyS1) in Hatari settings - run Hairless serial-midi bridge https://projectgus.github.io/hairless-midiser...

Atari port for this mid2txt tool in C?

I found this small (windows) command line tool to convert midi files to txt and vice versa. Included source code is in C, which I'm not familiar with. So I'm forced to use the windows binaries. I wonder if there's an Atari version? If not, maybe some kind soul can have a look at it to see if it coul...

Re: WebOne: browsing by proxy

If you're using Highwire, make sure you set the proxy to run on port 80 (in the config file) as Highwire doesn't know port numbers. You cannot set a proxy in Highwire, so you should use the so called 'local mode'. Feed the url http://xx.xx.xx.xx/http:/atari-forum.com to Highwire with xx.xx as the ip...

Re: Does the forum allow login by proxy?

Just reveived word from Alexander, the WebOne developer. The login problem occurs with phpBB 3.3 (that's what our forum is running). Versions <3.3 handle login fine. This will be fixed in the next update of the WebOne proxy. Current version is 0.10.5. I'll keep an eye on it. https://github.com/ataue...

Does the forum allow login by proxy?

I am testing the WebOne proxy server for old browsers. I can browse the forum with Highwire, but cannot login. The proxy works fine with other phpBB 3.x forums. I contacted the developer of the proxy and he thinks the forum is probably running a plugin preventing login by proxy. Does anyone have any...

Rational Sounds - new speaking clock voice

I recently (re)discovered Rational Sounds, that crazy utility from long ago that lets you assign sounds to various system events to be played through GemJing. Apparently it's freeware now. You can find it here https://web.archive.org/web/20150810135841/http://heinisoft.atari-users.net/ I didn't like...

Received Karl's latest book this morning. Very nice and sympathetic project! I love the vintage ads. Never was much of a gamer, but it's tempting now. I'll keep it within reach. And I love the stickers that came with it.

@robv: did you change anything else beside the IP between the reboot problem and the successful launch of XaAES? when did you change the config.txt video mode? before the problem or after? Had it working right after changing the ip's. Changed the config.txt afterwards for cosmetic reasons (nicer sc...

Same problem here so I contacted the developer. It's a problem with'the proxy's local mode (that's what we use with Highwire). He will try to fix it in the next version.

Re: WebOne: browsing by proxy

Interesting, I'll probably install on my RasPi here. Definitely an interesting project, but you will need a fast machine to run the proxy on (tested it on my Intel i7 4.00 GHz; RasPi 4 is next). Not everything works, but it's an early version. A lot depends on your browser's CSS implementation. No ...

Re: BeePi 1.1.b

It crashed right after loading EmuTOS and kept rebooting. In my case (I have a Pi 4) changing the ip's in Aranym setup (F12) fixed it. If your router also assigns 192.168.178.xx addresses that should be fine (otherwise ping wouldn't work). So I think we need Faucon2001 (Phillippe) to shed some light...

Re: BeePi 1.1.b

Hi guys, I am stuck at the tos reboot loop. I already changed the IP Adresses in the config and can ping the ip of tap0 from my network. I had a similar problem. In my case it had to do with BeePi setup expecting IP addresses 192.168. 1 .50 and 192.168. 1 .51 while my router assigns addresses as 19...

Re: WebOne: browsing by proxy

Some images that Highwire cannot handle are not displayed. You can configure the proxy to convert these to a format Highwire does understand (f.i. PNG) using the included CONVERT util (from ImageMagicK). Will have to test this to see how it affects speed. So far speed is OK (on a fast box). Hope to ...
