Re: Atari MegaFile Hard Drive Replacement
A solution similar to DREM pointed by JD is the following: https://decromancer.ca/mfm-emulator/ You can buy this product or build it yourself if you are confident enough in your electronic skills. I fully understand the approach to keep the original look and fell of a configuration like a Mega ST al...

Hi everyone
Franck would you mind sharing 9 to 15 pins adapter pinout?
And the option taken to drive -9v to pin 5? (Use of 7909?)
Thanks in advance

Re: RaSCSI for Atari - Testers needed
Hi alienkidmj12 Sadly no. RaSCSI is using SCSI not ACSI, to connect it to MSTE you will need to use an SCSI to ASCI interface. The one provided with most (excluding Open version) MSTE is limited to one drive meaning one SCSI ID. A mod for this interface is available to enable a second SCSI target bu...

Re: Initialisation automatic for french BBS
To be honest not sure you will be able to get a "easy" solution using software only, but I may be wrong. Personally depending on you confidence in electronic (use of Arduino) I will try the following: - Remove the Atari ST Keyboard - Connect an Arduino instead (revert the following schema:...

Re: Lion 905C
Hi qzxcvbn If you can open it and post a picture of the ACSI/SCSI controller it can be helpful as there are no information for that drive on the Internet To my point of view it should be a very standard configuration with an ACSI/SCSI controller along with an SCSI HDD You can replace the SCSI HDD by...

Re: Unique ID of unit.
Not sure it was a subject/topic at the time Atari ST and successors were designed.
Wasn't it why some ISV leveraged dongle? It is not intended to identify uniquely an Atari, because such doesn't not exit, to be sure it can only be run on one single Atari at a time.

Re: SCSI based Graphics card for TT, via RASCSI
On my point of view, if the situation was similar to Network support for RaSCSI (driver already exist) it could have been interested with little extra effort to try having Display feature from RaSCSI available on our beloved Atari. But if a complete driver development is needed for uncertain results...

Re: SCSI based Graphics card for TT, via RASCSI
Also read many reports from users using various Mac Emulator like Spectre CGR saying that this combination perform better than real equivalent Mac.
Even TT with Spectre GCR was providing better performance feeling over Macintosh II
Sorry for the digression

Re: RaSCSI for Atari - Testers needed
czietz assumption was related to RaSCSI specifically and not whole SCSI chain meaning that this fix is not intended to correct an issue related to RaSCSI itself as the design is smart and in respect with SCSI specifications Reading between lines means that the issue was already existing on your TT a...

Re: SCSI based Graphics card for TT, via RASCSI
Just found the following post where Powerview is demonstrated along with an LCIII https://www.journaldulapin.com/2019/09/19/carte-externe-radius/ At the bottom of the article there is a video recording. Display rate seems to be low but still acceptable LCIII is 68030@25Mhz close to TT but maybe with...

Re: SCSI based Graphics card for TT, via RASCSI
Can compression be an option to address SCSI bus low bandwidth like it is done today with DisplayLink driver?
It will impact CPU heavily but maybe increase frame rate a bit for desktop use.

Re: SCSI based Graphics card for TT, via RASCSI
Agree Frank and thanks for your input
Shouldn't the driver be specifically developed to leverage SCSI instead of VME to be enable use of RaSCSI display capabilities on our beloved Atari?

Re: SCSI based Graphics card for TT, via RASCSI

Thanks to the efforts of the contributors, RaSCSI is definitely THE solution (highly flexible storage solution, networking, display) This also demonstrates the capabilities of the...

Re: RaSCSI for Atari - Testers needed
okay.... I'm so stupid... Why didn't I think of this before? If I replace the hard disk with the RaSCSI, it works without any problems. however, I would like to operate the RaSCSI externally. This does not work yet :( Haven't tried it on the TT's external SCSI port Have you check termination on the...

Re: RaSCSI for Atari - Testers needed
Yeah that sounds useful. I was wondering if there might be a way to run a script from the Atari to tell the RaSCSI to gracefully shutdown. Since I run Mint mainly, it would be good to implement it as part of Mints shutdown. Not sure it is possible yet. Worth to look at the following discussion: htt...

Hi all On my side still playing with it on my TT030 Spend some times building a versatile setup to use with a Talon Supercharger which enables me to switch from one MS DOS version to another by just changing one HDS file on the RaSCSI while keeping data/applications drives on a « fixed » HDS Very us...

Hi artik-wroc
Could it be a stability issue as it does not occur every time?
Are you running your 68LC060 at stock speed or with some overclocking?

Hi viking272
Did acquire such a tool few years back to help upgrading Mac LC475 from 68LC040 to full 68040.
This tool was convenient and helpful.
As far as I remember it costs me 9€

Re: CT60/CT63 will be available soon again
Hi troed Will assume that initial Meridian 1 were shipped with LC and later release with higher clocked EC. Never seen a Meridian 1 with a full 68060RC, but maybe in US. Don't put too much hope (and money) in getting full 68060RC with embedded devices. Full 68060RC may have been used with very early...
