Re: Video: Steem overview
thanks, nice video Vincent obviously thumbed up. Thanks :) Regarding Steem 3.2. That version is very very... very old, almost as old as EmuTOS 0.7 IMO would be better to avoid promoting such a outdated software, and focus on the latest version. Yes. Initially I wanted to make a video about both Ste...

Re: TOS, Roms and ROM Fixes...any GUIDE?
Ah, its YOUR channel. Just discovered it yesterday. I REALLY like your content (watched a few) Thanks :D but I have to watch with subtitles (never studied French but I am getting better!) - I wish you made English language also... (I'm sorry, English speakers are a pain in the backside) I a...

Re: TOS, Roms and ROM Fixes...any GUIDE?
Hi, I plan to use 27C010 EEPROMs on my STe. So I need to move the W102/W104 "jumpers" (actually zero ohm resistors). Is it possible to do that operation with a simple soldering iron from top side, without disassembling the whole mainboard? In this video from The Backoffice the operation is performe...

Re: Newbie questions
Noob question and poss obvious or answered before but when MISTER's DE10 nano FPGA is much bigger than Vampire's FPGA what reasons are there that we don't have the features Vampire has (RTG, faster CPU, etc) for Amiga core?

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core
Hi I found the original announcement from last year and wondered if there is anything happening with regard to the limitations (some of which I wasnt fussed about personally but these ones below are pretty useful to have added.....) - ST/STFM only. No STE functionality. No Blitter. *** - No hard dis...

STFM Floppy Issues
Hi Can't resist buying STs on eBay (now owner of two STEs and an STFM). My new STFM produces a solid picture and keyboard works fine and it gets to desktop no issues but nothing loads on the FDD. Now I know they often fail but this doesn't seem to even be trying to read a disk. If I insert a disk, I...

Re: Diagnose Monitor Related Fault
Pics of the main board where the monitor connects would also be great. My mainboard is like this guys - http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3506 with the same bodge from the factory Two pics attached. One is monitor area, one is modulator. Looks a little "dirty" on the modulator. https://dri...

Diagnose Monitor Related Fault
I bought a clean STE from eBay with a known fault, described by the original owner as in the attached picture. It sounds to me like some sort of grounding fault? But I admit I have no idea where to start. I have a multimeter with continuity buzzer. Can some experts give me some ideas where to start ...

3) IO Board - this does analogue VGA and sound - it holds fan and powers that - anything else I need this for? 4) USB hub - is this just a USB hub or something special? 5) RTC board 6) 3D Printed cases - they look nice. Presumably the finer the printer I get this done on the better the final look. ...

Re: Newbie questions
Trying to work out which bits are needed and what they do, to cost it all up before buying 1) De10 Nano - 100% needed and SD card of course. Is there a max size of supported SD card? 2) Ram board - some cores don't need but serious use means I need this 3) IO Board - this does analogue VGA and sound...

Re: HxC External floppy cable, works as A and B
On most STf and all STe there are jumpers on board to route the DS0 and DS1 signals to appropriate pins of external FDD connector. You mas use them, together with a DSx jumpers on the internal FDD. Yes, but I understand those jumpers are never populated. So you still need some minimum soldering and...

Re: External Disk Drive As Main Drive?
What 1024Mak and Dal have done is different (and confusing me). Mak's seems less work and less dangerous... What is the advantage of Dal's then? I tried to read http://www.atari-wiki.com/index.php/Drive_Select_Swap_Mod but in 3 browsers the page loads nothing (yet the Wiki index shows there is text ...

Re: HxC External floppy cable, works as A and B
That was what I thought could only be done by messing with some switch on the AY8912 chip? It depends on exactly which computer. But you need to swap the drive selection signals. In some cases it is just changing some straps. Oh that sounds less PITA... I have two STE's - both with CA4003290 boards...

Re: HxC External floppy cable, works as A and B
Sorry if I am being dumb but do you mean that firmware is irrelevant, as long as HXC manager is used then the drive gets selected as whatever I want (A or B) and the internal drive just acts as the "other" one? Exactly ! I'm not sure you are talking about the same thing. If you want to swap drives,...

Re: HxC External floppy cable, works as A and B
I was able to get the cable to work without changing any straps inside my 1040STF. The GoTek/HxC works well as drive B and the internal floppy is still Drive A. The only little issue I have is that I have no way to update the 'slots' in the HxC. I have to open my 1040STF and plug the HxC into the d...

Re: USB keyboard/mouse interface
Nobox This is great if it allows USB keyboard and mouse.. Can I suggest some possible improvements/expansions? 1) If the mapping of USB keyboard to ST was stored as a text file it could be easily adapted for ANY other mappings. These could then easily be inserted without needing to recompile. 2) If ...
