I have just downloaded it and extracted it without problem. StrangeTheNameOfTheGame wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:07 pmGetting an error extracting this new version. Can you check the archive? So this is the update BeePi 1.1.a : https://mega.nz/file/A00yHDhA#elto39FyL ... aj3OGcII6g
It corrects the boot video issue, optimisation for Rpi3, corrected samba and remote printer apps.

Ok thanks for confirming. Tried again this time using unzip from the console and it worked that way.dhedberg wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:16 pmNo errors extracting it over here (using WinRAR).TheNameOfTheGame wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:07 pm Getting an error extracting this new version. Note to those buying a PI4. The PI3 HDMI cable and power supply aren't compatible. Now I have the PI4 but have to wait another week for the accessories to get here. Crap.

Re: BeePi 1.1
Dont forget to mention: The Pi4 is a hothead. you need some kind of cooling

Re: BeePi 1.1
One more: At least some (my) Micro SD extenders don't work with the Pi4. But USB boot works fine.

I also have this error. Winrar says the file is corrupt when extracting, Please advise - it says the file is 4gb but then says the extracted files is only 450mb and corrupt and it has a strange MACOS folder - is this really for the raspberry pi?????TheNameOfTheGame wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:07 pmGetting an error extracting this new version. The MacOS folder will appear inside any archive file that was created on a Mac. It usually contains the icons for any of the files within the archive.ronnymorrissey wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 12:17 am Hi, I cannot download this at all

I also had the 450M turn into a 4Gb file. But I haven't written it to an SD card yet as my Pi4 is packed away in a box somewhere.

Re: BeePi 1.1
Hi,
I have downloaded 3 times the archive and it is not corrupted. I can unpack it with a standard unzip on MacOS and Linux.
Similar problem has been reported in Atari-forum and it was solved by using a different unpacker.
Size of the archive : 1.93 GB
Size of the image unpacked : 4.77 GB
I am quite puzzled as it’s working for me and others.
What unpacker are you using? Can you try with another one?

Re: BeePi 1.1
Who uses Winrar, it isn't 1998 anymore... On windows use 7zip, it is free and open source and can extract anything.

Thanks! WinRAR is the culprit. 7zip works. Will use that in future

Re: BeePi 1.1
I have tried several unpackers - winrar, 7-zip file manager and winzip on my PC- all with the same errors.
After reading that the author of Beepi had tested this on MacOS and Linux, I tried downloading andunpacking it on my Mac and it still didn't work at all.
The size of the file was correctly listed as 4gb and I used the official Raspberry pi disk imager - after writing the image it failed at the verify part saying that the size of the image differed from what was written to the disk.
I must say that I have never ever had any problems unpacking disk images for the Pi before this. It is incredibly frustrating and there must be an issue with the file itself. How could it fail on two separate operating systems??

This file is not corrupted, I am sure : as you can't unzip it under OSX and have a smaller size for the img (4 GB instead of 4.77GB), it's possible that your download is corrupted as y.
What browser have us used? Have you tried other browser ? In previous version, people had issue with Chrome.
Have you used direct download (method that I use) or Mega Downloader ?
I am sorry for the inconvenience but I can't see where the issue is.

Coucou Philippe !
Just to say, there is no problems with your file...
Extraction is fine using the in-built Zip extractor of Windows & 7-Zip too... I have no Pi4, but I just tested your file, it's OK!
Voilà !
Gros bisous de loin à cause du COVID ! Haha !
Big kiss...
(poor english as always)

How can I direct download it when it is hosted by Mega?
I appreciate you trying to help but I have never ever had issues before with something like this! Surely there is something odd going on?

I think Mega requires an extension on many browsers to complete large download: https://mega.nz/extensions

Re: BeePi 1.1
I had the extension - I have had no problem downloading. Initially It was a problem of extraction and when I did that on my Mac as opposed to PC that did work but when it came to writing the image I was given the error message that the image didnt match the file size even though the full 4gb was supposedly extracted and written.dma wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 9:52 am I think Mega requires an extension on many browsers to complete large download: https://mega.nz/extensions
I have wrote around 100 raspberry pi images before so I wouldn't class myself as a newbie - it has only been this particular file I haven't been able to write which is strange!

Re: BeePi 1.1
Got my accessories finally (still waiting for the heatsink set) and was able to get the PI4 setup and BeePi running smoothly.
So far so good. Haven't noticed any issues, but I've only run it for a short time. Don't want to stress the PI4 out until the heatsinks get here.
Thanks for this new release and for the PI4 support.
Question: How do I change the desktop to Jinnee?

You need to edit XAAES.CNF file, IIRC..
