Good question. I don't even remember what the purpose of this format was.

I was wondering - is the site/engine http://atari.anides.de/ able to convert graphic the use would like to upload and convert? (Somehow I cannot see such an option there).
If so - in what specific way could I obtain the DUO format with it?

you need to drag an image into the webpage to 'upload' it.

Spiny: Ah. So it works only with new browsers ( = new hardware). Old Firefox doesn't do this.

The (New) Experimental Atari STE image enhancement website to create images with more than 16 colours for the Atari STE is now online for a certain amount of time.

Please note: the recommended proportion of images to be converted is 16:10 (like 1280 x 800 pixels). For your convenience please change your browser width to have two images in one row. Still not perfect in many ways but quite usable.

Could you please add also .IMG format (for all - 1 / 8 bit color modes)?
It would allow to use converted images directly on the Falcon / TT or the ST.

That would be nice. I'd suggest using the "XIMG" variant of .img and supporting planes great than 8 bits as well.

It would have been very good if it could be done when converting many images for a long time to the same colors.

.PI9 format would be a great addition, in both 320 x 200 and 320 x 240.
