Same I'd say for AZERTY *puke*
Anyway you can exchange the keyboard on any ST and Falcon with ease. And if you don't want to change the TOS, I think a TSR that changes they keyboard tables for TOS is not difficult to write...

I once used azerty when being to France.
I found it easier to search into the French version of Systemsteuerung (don't know the English term - system preferences would come to mind) than to have to look for each key to press.
A French TOS wouldn't be a problem though.

Yes, because some lamer down the line would eventually (soon) pay $1000 for it, justifying that price to the (re)sellers.RetroGamerUK wrote:If they sold them for $500.00 someone would have already bought out their stock and then sold them on at a profit.
I don't like it either, because I've been looking for a Falcon/TT for a while now and couldn't even afford $500... but that's the Way Things Are

According to the list they have new STs from the 520 STF, 520 STFM, 1040 STF, 1040 STFM range, and some mega ST2 and 4s made from new parts and recon keyboards.
The prices are high understandably, and since they are (I assume) NTSC / 110V 60Hz machines it would not be cost effective to import them to the UK even with the good exchange rate...

But hey, you wanted new STs

Re: EBAY
its seems the germans and french dont know how to use ebay and paypal
they all seem to moan about ebay costs
but yet try to make there buyers pay thru the nose via bank transfer only to some banks golf tour or snooker match...
so stupid
instead you offset the cost by making a reserve price
and include the paypal cost to it
so if you plan to sell on ebay its abvious to take this step
it makes sending cash around lots easier
paypal charge a small fee the the reciever of the cash
so people fell cheeted instead of covering this and not having to worry
i personaly would rather carry the cost of paypal then bank transfer to germany or france {will cost te same as the items cost including the post then the same charge again} very stupid !!!!!
so... dont make this mistake
a way to punish stupid people is to set up a daft account and buy there items till they toe the line "!!!"

It appears Atari Workshop's site is now dead. Perhaps confirming rumours that they have ceased trading. Assuming this is confirmed, I think it needs to be removed from your list, Retrogamer?
STE: Desktopper case, IDE interface, UltraSatan (8GB + 512Mb) + HXC floppy emulator. Plus some STE's/STFM's

Thanks for the heads up Dal, I have marked the link as "down" for the time being in case it is only temporary.
I will E-Mail the owner to find out if it will return, then make the necessary amendments

Wow, this may well be the last *current* list of Atari hardware retailers in the world
Glad retrogamer's still maintaining it!

Yeh the prices for the other stuff is steep too.AY3EIGHTYNINE10 wrote:$1000 for a FALCON???
I could buy an iMac for that!
But
It's good to see the stock there so if you 'really' wanted something that you just couldn't get anywhere else, you just need a lottery win!!
So if you are desperate for a TT or Falcon........start saving.

I reckon from a U.K. buyer's perspective the U.S. vendors' prices are not too bad at the moment with the current exchange rate, even given the mains supply and display incompatibilitiesjd wrote:Yeh the prices for the other stuff is steep too.AY3EIGHTYNINE10 wrote:$1000 for a FALCON???

It's a shame the Atari-workshop has gone, I only hope that its stock is eventually merged into that of 16/32 systems, in fact I have just E-mailed them with this very question so watch this space

Re: Re:
Yeh i forgot about Atari Workshop/System Solutions, I was fairly local to them which is where i purchased my Falcon + powerup2 + NEC multisync plus HDDRIVER and NVDI all for just over a grand!!!, glad i had an understanding Dad, I used the "I need it for Uni dad" pleaRetroGamerUK wrote: I reckon from a U.K. buyer's perspective the U.S. vendors' prices are not too bad at the moment with the current exchange rate, even given the mains supply and display incompatibilitiesthen again with import duty and so on it could end up silly money...

Oops .. was a bit over zealous there with the "delete post" button and forgot to move the atari-man's advert into the For Sale section. If you want to re-create your post atari-man in the right place - apologies for being a bit over-zealous. Checked the trashcan area of this forum and I can't seem to find your deleted posts (I thought it kept copies of them just in case!)

Re: WHERE TO BUY ST / FALCON / TT HARDWARE & SOFTWARE
I should mention that it was my first reply to Atari-man which prompted the admin to intervene, my original reply to atari-man was also deleted as requested.
I had suggested that his (atari-man's) ad for the sale of ST hardware was off topic here since this is a topic covering websites that sell ST hardware / software, so I suggested that his ad be moved to where it would be noticed i.e. the for sale forum
Just thought I would mention this for anyone wondering what is going on

Re: WHERE TO BUY ST / FALCON / TT HARDWARE & SOFTWARE
A rather shameless self promotion but I now have some Dallas DS12887 Falcon NVRAM/Clock chips in stock, you can find them on the hardware page of my website at http://www.sgmelectrosoft.co.uk.
I am selling to UK and Europe only as I suspect that with additional postage cost and the exchange rate US Falcon owners can find them cheaper locally, if not e-mail me at the address on the website for prices.
If you are an Atari dealer and want to buy in quantity e-mail me using the address on my website for prices.
Note: People belonging to Cheshunt Computer Club should contact Mark Branson in the first instance as he has already secured a quantity of clock chips for club members.
