Great news thanks!

Just rename "smurf.rsc" to "smurfg.rsc" (or similar) then rename "smurfeng.rsc" to "smurf.rsc". and away you go![ProToS] wrote: (english and german rsc)

Re: Smurf 1.06 gpl is released
Hello,
Is someone using smurf ?
I get some troubles with the program, running under Magic.
I installed ver 1.05 and later on the free version 1.06
On my Milan both version don't want to work. When I want to load a *.jpg file, smurf cannot load the required import modules.
On my Falcon, smurf 1.05 works, but version 1.06 gives the same troubles as on my Milan.
When I convert the *.jpg to an *.img sometimes smurf 1.05 crashes.
Mark

Re: Smurf 1.06 gpl is released
Source code is still here: https://github.com/freemint/smurf (and it seems complete/compilable). Gerhard is still around (@gstoll) so perhaps he can help here.

Re: Smurf 1.06 gpl is released
Maybe it is complete, but in its current form not compilable out-of-the-box (unless your source directory happens to be h:\src) : https://github.com/freemint/smurf/blob/ ... port.h#L39
It would also be nice to have some kind of master project file that references the application project file, and all the modules. Otherwise you have to manually build them one after the other.
Edit: source for the demolib.lib also seems to be not available. So currently no chance to compile it with gcc.

BTW, any specific reason why you want to use smurf? Is there something that smurf can do, and VISION for example can't?

I want to convert modern image formats to ST formats for my higher end machines desktops etc.. just fun stuff. I am not familiar with VISION. Can it do that? where is a source for VISION? I am done with my hardware.. so now I am playing with software.ThorstenOtto wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 1:10 pm BTW, any specific reason why you want to use smurf? Here is Smurf 1.06gpl. There is an English RSC in the archive. Maybe this will work for you.

Re: Smurf 1.06 gpl is released
Vision can use the zView import modules, and there are ~100 available, so i'm quite sure it can do that

Binaries are available at http://vision.atari.org/vhistoe.htm
Source should also be available there somewhere....
Re: Smurf 1.06 gpl is released
Hi BikerBob,
yes you can do that with VISION either using the "Batch Convert" feature or by digging into scripts if you need something more advanced.
Script samples are in script folder, there are several examples.
Source and binaries here: http://vision.atari.org/telee.htm
VISION does not come with zView modules, they are available here: http://atari.gfabasic.net/files/codecs.zip
VISION also supports Img modules: http://atari.gfabasic.net/files/img_mod.zip
You then need to instruct VISION about zView/Img modules path, e.g. in VISION.INI, [Folders] section:
[Folders]
zvLDG = C:\GEMSYS\LDG\CODECS
ImgMod = C:\GEMSY\IMGMOD
Should you have any question or it, just ask
Cheers,
Jean

Re: Smurf 1.06 gpl is released
I think i got my archive that i posted in the other thread from here: ftp://kurobox.serveftp.net:3021/graph-tools/smurf/
That seems to be the very same archive TheNameOfTheGame posted above.
However, although that also claims to be the 1.06 GPL version, it seems to be a bit different from the sources that are hosted on freemint/smurf. It contains some modules, for which i could not find the source:
modules\edit\colrun.sem
modules\edit\displace.sem
modules\edit\scale.sem
modules\export\esm.sxm
modules\import\godpaint.sim
modules\import\jpegdspl.six
modules\import\jpegdspn.sim
modules\import\pixar.sim
modules\import\qdv.sim
modules\import\qfax.sim
modules\import\softimag.sim
modules\import\spu_spc.sim
modules\import\plugin\mrm.plg
There are also some modules that don't compile, because of missing resource files.
OTOH, there are also some sources for modules that are not present in the above archive.
And, as already mentioned, source for the demolib.lib is missing.
Does anybody know were to get those sources?

Some of the modules I copy form the original.
