techie_alison
I have just registered to this board to convey the saddest of news, the sick feeling inside me is making this all the much harder.
The user who I believe was active on this board as techie_alison aka Alison Challis suffered a fatal motorcycle accident on the 28th of April
http://www.metro.co.uk/news/862060-ipsw ... gine-crash
If I have got this wrong and techie_alison is not Alison Challis then I sincerely apologise in advance..grief and sadness is clouding my view but I have done everything I can to try and confirm this user is who I think they are and figured if it is true your community deserve to know.

Re: techie_alison
Oh my word....
I've bought several items off Alison and have benefited (as have many) from
her technical expertise with Atari computers.
We've lost a great friend.
PS Can anyone verify for sure? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that its not
the same one. I do know though, that she posted messages here about her
bike.
Here is a pic she sent me once, when we were exchanging e-mails about
the PeST/JeST:

Re: techie_alison
This is just awful news. Alison seemed a kind person as well as a knowledgable and helpful member of the Atari community. I'm absolutely shocked.
My sincere condolences to her family, friends and loved ones. A very sad loss indeed.

Re: techie_alison
Stunned beyond belief... I have had a fair bit of chat via email wit her over the past three years, and always warm, friendly and helpful.....simply adorable really. Like many others I have bought and had things made, of which I do not have the skills or knowledge to make myself. She seemed so talented and yet so modest and down to earth with it, something many other people could learn from; she was more interested in just being happy and enjoying what she loved. The last thing she did for me was to make some dual TOS ROMs for my STE machines, one of which my dear uncle aged 70 fitted and soldered for me last year. That computer has taken on a lot of emotional and sentimental meaning for me, because I will always remember three things when I look at it; it was my first ST that helped me become a proper musician and gigged with it and a whole lot more; my uncle worked on it and he is VERY special to me; finally dear old Aly helped to upgrade it and I came to value her very much, but sadly never got to meet her in person which I planned to do.

Re: techie_alison
Shocking news. I had to read the post 3 times to really believe it. I'm very sad now. I bought some stuff from her and kept correspondance through PM about some questions I had, and she was always really helpful and cheerful.

From a previous forum posting by 1024MAK on the 3rd May 2010 addressed to Ali when she was talking about getting a new motorbike.
Ali will be missed by a lot of people. I never knew her personally, but from her presence on the forum, you could tell that she was an exceptional lady in any walk of life. Condolences to her family and friends.
Foreshadowing sucks..If you do get a bike be careful out on the roads.

Re: techie_alison
This ain't good at all, 2011 seems to be one of those years
This is already the second biker friend I lose in 2 weeks, althought I knew Allison only
through the internet, it feels like more. We liked to discuss motor things
above Atari things and I loved here for the fact that she took her bike apart in
the living. Where on earth can you find that kind of woman
Alison I'm going to miss you esp. your crazy lines on facebook.
Your were too young to go, but someone decided elsewise.
Ride to stairway to heaven, give them a good burn-out over there !
