I only just saw this today. I first came into contact with Alison because I bought some ST stuff from her on eBay about 3 years ago when I just got my first STe. She even included some bonus games with my purchase and put together a disk of some utilities I might need. Being an Amiga user of 20+ years I wasn't that familar with all things TOS and she generously took the time to exchange emails with me and help with a few of my questions. I sent her a sickly ZX81 by way of a thank you of sorts Like many of you I have enjoyed browsing the LogicSays site and looking at pictures of her ST mods and reading some of her helpful advice on this forum.

Such a tragic loss and my condolences go out to Colin and her family.

Blast from the past..

Sinclair ZX81

I had a cousin and his name was Paul, and in the back corner of his parent's living room was his ZX81. The memories of that computer that I have are so vivid, even the view of looking out of the window onto the back garden. What can we say? FAST, SLOW? Flight Simulator? This computer had no sound and no colour remember. Such brilliant memories. It was crap.

More than one year later, just now I read this horrible new. Some years ago I had through this forum an email exchange with Alison and - oh Lord!, I've loved her so! Remember I hoped to meet her (not so easy, from Italy!) one day - she was lovely even writing about EPROMs or CPUs or other so romantic arguments. Very, very sad now! One last hello from Rome too, Requiescas In Pace, Aly!

This means so much to Valerie, to know how Alison touched so many lives in such a positive way

At the end of this week it will be eighteen months since Alison's passing, can you believe it? I still can't, to me it seems like yesterday she was still here, and I miss her more than ever.
Anyway this is just a quick post to say that very soon I will be sorting through all her electronic equipment, with the view of selling to people that would appreciate it because it belonged to her.
I will keep you posted as to when I start offering stuff for sale.

Once again thank you all for your lovely sincere comments over the last eighteen months.

I just came back to the board today feeling a little nostalgic and I find this out...

Like others, I am completely stunned by this. I know alot of you knew about this a long time ago, but I just found out from this post.

Alison was a great friend to me and most everyone else she met on this board. My heart aches. She has been, and will continue to be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

I still have her chips plugging away. =)

I still find it hard to know she is no longer with us. I miss our chats and projects we worked on. its not often you can find someone to worth together with and actually finish something together! Now and then I get emails who mention her and how supportive she was to Atari people. Had one just last week in fact while chatting to a guy who crossed my inbox from overseas. She sure helped a lot of people and I am sure will be missed for a long time to come.

I know Chris, it will be two years on the 28th, so unbelievable.
For me it seems like she was only here yesterday, the house is so empty without her, I will never get over her loss.
I have said before, that I am so proud that she left a footprint in so many peoples hearts and the admiration for her within this Atari community is so wonderful - she will never be forgotten.

Chris you may like to consider coming over to Ipswich one day this year, I know it's a long journey, but you could have a look through all her equipment and maybe we can do a deal on some of her stuff.

Hard to believe it's been 2 years and I didn't find out about this til recently when I was told about it on ircnet's #c-64 and while I never had personal contact with her, how seemingly the warmest and most enthusiastic persons get struck by fate first

Indeed this coming Sunday the 28th April, it is the second anniversary of Alison passing. For me it has been both the longest and shortest two years of my life.
Unbelievable she is not here, I miss her every minute of every day.

I only had a few words with Alison and unlike many others on here, I didn't know her too well but I think I speak for the 'scene' when I say she'll always be missed...

Oh man, I just found out today, came on this thread by accident. I feel terrible. We had some emails chats in the past, and its strange I was recently thinking about Alison, wondered if she was still active in the atari scene... I haven't been for a few years now, which is why I find out 2+ years later... damn. As a motorcycle rider too, it's disheartening to know that she was a victim of bad luck. My wife used to worry every time I went out on the bike, I'd tell her "When it's my time, it's my time - you can get killed crossing the road or tripping on a bad pavement". I myself survived a 90mph motorcycle accident with a light fracture and some bruises, it just goes to show there are no rules and life is really unfair sometimes.

I am so saddened by the news. I can't get over it. I did not know her, but I've read so many of her helpful, thoughtful, and knowledgable posts. I feel like a fool as I just sent her a private message asking for assistance with something.( she was always so ready to help folks with anything technical. ) Then noticed she had not been on for a while, and then read the announcement... I still cannot get over it... We definitely lost some one very special within our community. My heart goes out to those who were close to her, I am very very sorry for their loss.

Only just found out about this terrible news after mentioning the Atari on another forum; a fellow poster asked if I was talking about Alison and directed me here.

I met her once, in 2008 when I gave her my old Atari stuff - couldn't bring myself to bin it and couldn't be bothered to eBay it - and we handed it all over to her in a car park at Hatfield Peverel. I didn't want anything for it but she insisted on giving us a bottle of Baileys (IIRC). She was a happy, bubbly person I would have liked to know better.

I remember that day well, she was so excited in getting all that Atari stuff.

I pop on here every so often and it amazes me that new posts still keep appearing, if only she realised how popular she was when she was alive!

Hi, I just wanted to bump this thread as I can think of no better topic than Alison. It's coincidental that I was just reading this when Colin just phoned. Glad he did because I am having a bad time ATM, partly due to Alison.

If I told you the impact she's had on me, and her story, you wouldn't believe me. Anyway, just wanted to say I've done a remake of Alien for the Atari Lynx and dedicated it to Alison. Her threads changed my life last year and have turned my life upside down. I was saddened to hear she had some tough problems earlier before she met Colin. I know there are still a lot of people hurt by her loss - I am one of them, and I think what hurts most is that I never got chance to thank her.

Suprised at the modelling thing mentioned but she was daring and certainly lived life to the max from what I know. I will clone her websites soon to ensure there are a few mirrors.

By the way - shocked about the stalker :O. It wasn't me, despite being recently negatively obsessed by the upset of her passing.

Wow, sadly it's nearly 11 years since Alison's passing. I re-read the posts and a few sites mirrored and linked.
I actually had kept a few messages we shared in 2009. Quite a loss for the community and the tragic news still felt like it was announced recently.
It's clear Aly lived life to the full.
