Hi and a great thank you for this exquisite little program.
I'm completely new to ST emulation, but this seems to be by far the most excellent of the emu tools I tried so far.
If I missed similar topics in the forum for the problem I have, please accept my apologies in advance, I didn't find anything after searching for an hour.
I'm using the newest (3.9.3) D3D Win32 version on TOS 1.02. Older versions of Steem I tried had a fullscreen bug, but this one seems to work fine so far.
I'd love to have fullscreen with crisp option in correct aspect ratio. So no borders (top/bottom, left and right is ok for me) + and no "soft" linear filtering. But everything I tried so far didn't seem to work, as having no borders + crisp mode on always seems to create black borders at bottom/top and a smaller picture. If I turn off "ST aspect ratio" the picture is bigger, but still black borders at top/bottom remain.
This seems to be the one thing in Hatari that seems to work better there (whilst a myriad of other things are just much better/easier in Steem). That picture mode isn't a problem in Hatari.
Am I missing some hidden option checkbox here or is there no other way to go in this version? Is there another version of Steem SSE that provides this option?
Steem SSE 3.9.3. Win32 D3D - Fullscreen/Crisp without borders possible?

Hi,
What is your display resolution?
There's no miracle, if you want correct aspect ratio, some borders have to be created, on top & bottom, or on the sides if your display is wide.
And if you want crisp display, the pixel multiplier needs to be an integer. Hence the borders.
You may try a DD build to see if you prefer the feeling.
The video card hardware also as an effect on softness.

Re: Steem SSE 3.9.3. Win32 D3D - Fullscreen/Crisp without borders possible?
Hi, ty for the reply. Display resolution is plain Full-HD (1920x1080). I don't care about the side bars, I know they have to remain there in these modes, it's just top & bottom I want gone.
I could toss completely correct aspect ratio, if I get at least a picture size making the most use of my screen. If I remember correctly, Hatari manages to do crisp (linear filtering off it's called there, I think), making full use of the 1080 pixels height (=what I'm looking for). It's true that they don't offer true ST aspect ratio with that mode, so the image is slightly distorted.
But that at least should be possible then with the same setup I'm using. My graphics is Intel HD 4000 (mediocre laptop-internal card). I'll try one of the DD builds and see if it changes anything.

What is the difference between the DD and D3d built?
